Asheville High Bands Mattress Fundraiser

Our Asheville Bands will display Simmons Beautyrest and more top brands on Saturday, May 21st from 10am to 5pm at their mattress fundraiser sale saving our community 30-50% below retail costs on great beds! Do you have a mattress in your house that you could replace? Now is the time! The mattresses have outstanding full replacement warranties. One manufacturer won the Consumer Digest Best Buy and Women’s Choice award for the ninth consecutive year. Delivery is available. All styles and sizes are available for you to lay on including plush, firm, pillowtops, memory foam, latex, gel beds, Westin and Marriott styles. Please come out and see us on Saturday, May 21st, from 10am to 5pm at the Asheville High Cafeteria. Please tell your friends about this event.

Belk Charity Fundraiser for Asheville High Bands

Belk is having a private sale to support local charities on Saturday April 30, 2016, 6am-10am.  It is their best sale of the season, but you need a ticket to get in.  Tickets are $5 and, if you sell one, the whole $5 will go into your band account that can go toward paying for your trip to Hawaii or toward other band fees.

Anyone who buys a ticket

  • Will get $5 off of the purchase of one item.  Buy more tickets for $5 off that many more items.
  • Can receive a Belk Gift Card if they’re one of the first 100 customers in the store that morning.
  • Can shop starting April 10, reserve items so they can be rung up during the sale, then pick them up on or after April 30.

Pickup your tickets Wednesday April 13th. Sell tickets to friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, anyone who needs stuff until the 27th.  Return the money and any unsold tickets by Friday April 29th.

 

2016 Band Camp Info

2016 Band Camp Dates!!!

Leadership Camp: August 8th-10th, 9am-12pm

*Required for all CREW members.  Rookie camp (see below) is also required for you.

Colorguard and Percussion Camp: August 8th-12th, 9am-5pm

*Required for all colorguard and percussion students.

Rookie Camp: August 10th-12th, 9am-3:30pm

*Required for all first year marchers (colorguard and percussion will attend their own camps).

*Required for all CREW members.

EVERYONE: August 10th-12th, 12:30pm-3:30pm

*Required for EVERYONE.  Rookies, guard and percussion will already be there.

FULL BAND CAMP: August 15th-19th, 8:30am-8:30pm

*Required for EVERYONE.  Anyone who cannot attend full band camp will not be written into the drill, and will be placed as an alternate.

We will also have a spring mini training camp in May, before school gets out.  I will get those dates out as soon as I get the testing schedule.  This will be an opportunity for us to get a head start on visual training and music, and will be required for all students planning to march in the fall.

I will send out Commitment Forms in March.  I will not have the fall marching band schedule until I get the fall athletics schedule.  I can tell you that we will plan to attend the Enka competition on September 24th, as well as two additional competitions in October.  PLEASE do not schedule anything on these dates.  I would try to avoid making plans on Friday’s in September and October, and Saturday’s in October until we can get the schedule out.  We need 100% at ALL performances.

There will be a Spring Informational Meeting on April 21st at 6:00pm in the band room.  This meeting is highly encouraged for ALL students and parents of marching band members.  I will go over expectations, fees, schedules, and much more at this meeting.  We will also reveal our 2016 field show at this meeting.

Fall BBQ Dinner Fundraiser this Friday at Asheville High

Come out this Friday night and eat some great BBQ from Luella’s, Hickory Nut Gap Farms, City Bakery and Pepsi.

Friday 11/6  4-7pm at the Asheville High cafeteria.

Tickets available at the door or in advance from any band student.

$10 for adults, $7 kids under 8 for a BBQ sandwich, beans, potato salad and either Pepsi or bottled water.

The band “Out to Lunch” will play in the courtyard  5-7.
