Due to rain washing out the previous half-time show, Sept. 28 (home game vs. North Henderson) was the band’s third performance in front of a crowd, and the first time to run through the entire show in front of an audience. (No pressure!)

The next day was the first competition performance at the Enka HS competition. Unfortunately, it rained heavily during our performance time, but the band did their best under trying circumstances.
2016 Band Camp Dates!!!
Leadership Camp: August 8th-10th, 9am-12pm
*Required for all CREW members. Rookie camp (see below) is also required for you.
Colorguard and Percussion Camp: August 8th-12th, 9am-5pm
*Required for all colorguard and percussion students.
Rookie Camp: August 10th-12th, 9am-3:30pm
*Required for all first year marchers (colorguard and percussion will attend their own camps).
*Required for all CREW members.
EVERYONE: August 10th-12th, 12:30pm-3:30pm
*Required for EVERYONE. Rookies, guard and percussion will already be there.
FULL BAND CAMP: August 15th-19th, 8:30am-8:30pm
*Required for EVERYONE. Anyone who cannot attend full band camp will not be written into the drill, and will be placed as an alternate.
We will also have a spring mini training camp in May, before school gets out. I will get those dates out as soon as I get the testing schedule. This will be an opportunity for us to get a head start on visual training and music, and will be required for all students planning to march in the fall.
I will send out Commitment Forms in March. I will not have the fall marching band schedule until I get the fall athletics schedule. I can tell you that we will plan to attend the Enka competition on September 24th, as well as two additional competitions in October. PLEASE do not schedule anything on these dates. I would try to avoid making plans on Friday’s in September and October, and Saturday’s in October until we can get the schedule out. We need 100% at ALL performances.
There will be a Spring Informational Meeting on April 21st at 6:00pm in the band room. This meeting is highly encouraged for ALL students and parents of marching band members. I will go over expectations, fees, schedules, and much more at this meeting. We will also reveal our 2016 field show at this meeting.
