The Asheville High School Band Association is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that works to support the band programs at Asheville High School.
The band association funds routine travel to away games, competitions, and parades, pays for marching show drill and music, and provides essential equipment such as lyres, flip folders, and marching shoes for students. In the recent past, we have also funded several major purchases, such as new uniforms for the growing band in 2017 and replaced many instruments and necessary equipment.
Funding for the band comes from Asheville City Schools, participation fees from students, and annual fundraising events.

Why do we need to fundraise? Didn’t we already pay a $300 band fee?
Yes, most families have paid the $300 annual fee. However, it costs approximately twice that to run the band for one year, and it’s a goal of the AHS Band Association to ensure financial hardship does not prevent any student participating.
To raise the other half of our annual expenses, we organize a number of fundraisers.
