The United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus will play a free concert at Asheville High School on Saturday, March 18 at 7pm. Asheville High School Band Director Emily Talley considers the the Army Field Band and Chorus “one of the finest military ensembles in the country.” As the band is only able to visit our region once every eight years, this is a great opportunity for both students and the community!
The US Army Field Band will be joined by about a dozen advanced students from the Asheville High School Bands Program. This free event is sponsored by the BP Solutions Group, a marketing services provider based in Asheville, NC. The concert will take place at the Asheville High School Auditorium.
While the concert is free, tickets are required. To reserve a ticket, contact Asheville High School Band Director Emily Talley at 828 350-2646 or email@example.com or visit https://armyfieldband.ticketleap.com/asheville/ There is a maximum of four tickets per person.
“The Army Field Band and Chorus is one of the finest military ensembles in the country and we are looking forward to hosting these phenomenal musicians at Asheville High.” — Emily Talley, Asheville High School Band Director

We will also have a spring mini training camp in May, before school gets out. I will get those dates out as soon as I get the testing schedule. This will be an opportunity for us to get a head start on visual training and music, and will be required for all students planning to march in the fall.
I will send out Commitment Forms in March. I will not have the fall marching band schedule until I get the fall athletics schedule. I can tell you that we will plan to attend the Enka competition on September 24th, as well as two additional competitions in October. PLEASE do not schedule anything on these dates. I would try to avoid making plans on Friday’s in September and October, and Saturday’s in October until we can get the schedule out. We need 100% at ALL performances.
There will be a Spring Informational Meeting on April 21st at 6:00pm in the band room. This meeting is highly encouraged for ALL students and parents of marching band members. I will go over expectations, fees, schedules, and much more at this meeting. We will also reveal our 2016 field show at this meeting.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to the 2016 season, but I’m definitely not ready to see our Class of 2015 go! 🙁
